Now Jay P. Granat, Ph.D., Psychotherapist, author and Founder of www.StayInTheZone.com and Kelsea Weissberger, a level 10 gymnast and former captain of the cheerleading team at American University, have joined forces and are offering seminars to training gyms around the country.

These entertaining and informative seminars will address many of the psychological issues which create challenges for participants in these sports. The speakers will also answer questions about managing conflicts, overcoming fears, remaining focused, managing setbacks, finding a balance with training, school work and social activities and getting mentally and physically ready to compete at a high level.

“I believe that my experience and perpective and Kelsea’s experience and perspective can be quite helpful and valuable for people involved in these two demanding and challenging sports. Participants can get help from a mental coach who have worked with thousands of athletes and from someone who has competed successfully in their sport. Kelsea is eager to share her insights and experiences. She started in gymnastics at age two and both or her siblings have been gymnasts. Consequently, she knows a lot about the ups and downs and challenges associated with these worlds.

Kelsea and I are a great team and there appears to be great synergy and energy between the two of us. This should make for some super seminars,” says Dr. Jay Granat.

It has been used by many athletes. In fact, one gym owner and coach plays it for the girls before they train and before they compete, says Granat.

"Athletes in these sports struggle with fear, pressure, and interpersonal conflict with coaches, parents and teammates.  They also often deal with weight issues and eating issues," notes Granat.
